KHALIS AHMED: BANGLADESHI CANADIAN RUNNING FOR 2021 FEDERAL ELECTION
My upcoming guest Khalis Ahmed will join us on September 10 to discuss his election campaign running for NDP in the 2021 Canadian federal election. Never before in Canadian history did so many Bangladeshi Canadians run in Federal Election, which is why 2021 is an exciting time for us. It's about time that the immigrant communities need to take part in mainstream politics.

CONVERSATION WITH SOUTH ASIAN MOTHER AND DAUGHTER BOTH RUNNING FOR NDP LOCAL RIDINGS
My upcoming guests Aisha Jahangir and her daughter, Noor Jahangir, are two South Asian women running for NDP local ridings in Canadian Federal Election 2021. They will join us on September 8 at 11 AM EST and discuss why we need more immigrant representatives and people of color in the Canadian parliament. As a Bengali Muslim Immigrant in Canada, I am acutely aware of Canada's systemic racism and structural inequality. To uncover the myth of Canadian multiculturalism is to unearth past centuries riddled with historical injustice, genocide, slavery, segregation, and racist government policy. Canadian sociologist John Porter debunked the myth of a mosaic society in his book "The Vertical Mosaic" in 1965. Canda was and continues to be a vertical mosaic because wealth and political power are disproportionately concentrated among whites. If we do not combat these oppressive structures politically, we will continue deluding ourselves into believing Canada's myth of multiculturalism. LET'S PAINT CANADA ORANGE.

CONVERSATION WITH WAFAA A. ALUDAINI: WAHT LIFE IS LIKE IN ISRAELI-OCCUPIED GAZA?
My upcoming guest Wafaa A. AlUdaini is a remarkable Palestinian woman journalist reporting on the actual realities of Gaza and the resilience of Palestinians under the brutal Israeli occupation. Journalists like Wafaa's work are monumentally important for the world to know about Gaza because western media often fail to report with adequate integrity when it comes to writing and showing the raw realities of Palestine. Join us on September 5 at 4 PM Dhaka time and be part of this critical conversation and learn about WHAT LIFE IS LIKE IN ISRAELI-OCCUPIED GAZA? We deeply appreciate Wafaa's work. According to Maria Holt (Unversity of Westminister), outside observers tend to imagine the face of Gaza as resolutely male: the bearded Hamas "militant", or the young man hurling stones across the border fence. But Palestinian women, both in Gaza and the West Bank, have a significant presence as activists, protesting against an unjust occupation and as the backbone of a fragmented and demoralized society. Women have been active in the Palestinian struggle since its early days. In the 1920s, they protested side by side with men against British control of their country. They formed charitable organizations and expressed themselves politically. After the state of Israel was created in 1948, the majority of Palestinians were forced to flee into exile, and here too, women played a key role as protectors of their families and repositories of the "national story". It was vital that Palestinians, wherever they were in the world, did not forget what had happened and continued to insist on their right to return to their homeland. Women passed their memories of Palestine down to subsequent generations.

CONVERSATION WITH ELLEN HANSSON: HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS IN GAZA
My upcoming guest and Swedish human rights activist Ellen Hansson was part of a group of peace activists who spent months sailing from Sweden to Palestine to challenge Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip. Along with other peace activists, Ellen was captured by the Israeli military on international water and then imprisoned in Israel. We will hear from Ellen about her experience and what she thinks about humans rights violations in Gaza. Please join us and be part of this critical conversation on Sept 1 at 9 PM Dhaka time.
