REFLECTIONS ON THE POLITICS OF RABINDRANATH TAGORE

Dr. Ankita Banerjee (King's College London), is a Tagore researcher. Her dissertation establishes Rabindranath as an important political theorist, one of the many contributions of Tagore which has not been adequately explored. Dr. Banerjee's research looks into how Santiniketan was an expression of Tagore's political philosophy which was a noticeable departure from the contemporary nationalist ambiance. Ankita has brilliantly portrayed Tagore, the educator, as an intense political figure of twentieth-century Bengal. Pedagogy is inescapably political: Tagore was one the finest the world has seen in participating in politics through pedagogy.

We will try to unpack how the tech titans have become the attention merchants reducing the technology users into mere means for profit generation in many ways affecting our mental health adversely. We must recognize that the tech titans are not taking responsibility for adversely impacting our netizens' mental health. Technology is just a tool to make our lives easier, but if it is designed disregarding the well-being of the tool-users, we are in trouble.
